Principal's Message
Visitors to Future Academies Watford encounter our vision proudly displayed at the entrance for all to see: libertas per cultum (freedom through education). At the core of everything we do is a commitment to transforming the life chances of all our young people. Through our exceptional knowledge-rich education, rich and varied extracurricular programme, and aspirational pastoral care system, we nurture their development into confident, articulate, and successful adults.
Above all, three words are woven into our academy’s culture: knowledge, aspiration, and respect. We believe that knowledge is the key to academic success. Students at our school are given access to the very best that has been thought, written, and said over the centuries, delivered by knowledgeable and passionate subject specialists.
By having the highest academic and behavioural expectations of our students, we encourage them to have the highest expectations and aspirations for themselves. At Future Academies Watford, we recognise that there are many barriers that prevent people from achieving their future goals, and we equip our young people with the knowledge and belief to overcome these barriers.
In short, we truly believe that an exceptional education can open doors of opportunity, and this is why we have such high standards in all that we do. Our aspiration is to develop a school that young people love—a place that fills them with excitement and wonder. We want our students to feel a deep sense of pride and ownership in their school, surrounded by infinite possibilities. This enthusiasm goes hand in hand with our high standards of curriculum and behaviour, as we foster a culture of high expectations that young people and the community love to belong to.

Libertas per Cultum
We are part of Future Academies, sharing their high standards of excellence. With the support of our sponsors, Future, we are able to engage with the best teachers, the best universities and a wide range of the most prominent employers in the country to ensure that all our children are equipped with the knowledge and desire to be the best in whatever path they wish to follow.
Our values are Knowledge, Aspiration, and Respect. We believe that these values equip young people with the skills to overcome any barrier that they face. We relentlessly search to embed these values in school life and reflect this in our shared language:
- Know yourself, know your subject and know your potential.
- Respect yourself, respect others and respect your community.
- Aspire for yourself, aspire for your community and aspire for your future.
These values allow us to make our school motto a reality, libertas per cultum (freedom through education).
